Frequently asked questions

General

Community Vision’s A Roast to Remember is a bold initiative raising awareness and funds to support those living with dementia.

It encourages people to get friends and family together for A Roast to Remember to raise awareness and funds to support those living with dementia, including a travelling community dementia bus.

The dementia bus will:

  • Deliver essential support to metropolitan and regional areas that don’t have immediate access to local services
  • Offer the chance to engage with new educational technology (like Virtual Reality)
  • Give respite to carers and family members and provide informative advice like therapy techniques and methods of dealing with dementia
  • Bring vital awareness and education programs to our schools and workplaces. This will develop our collective understanding of what a person with dementia experiences and how to help them cope.

Community Vision is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that supports individuals living with dementia, their family members, their carers and the community.

All funds raised go towards the community dementia bus.

In our first year (2018), we raised enough money to purchase our community’s very first dementia bus. With the dream of the community dementia bus now a reality, we are raising enough money to fit out the bus, to purchase advanced technology for the bus and to hire the two staff required to service it. We aim to visit a minimum of two locations each week covering metro, regional and rural WA.

The dementia bus will:

  • Deliver essential support to the metropolitan and regional areas which don’t have immediate access to local services
  • Take those living with dementia to special locations to engage with new technology (like Virtual Reality)
  • Give respite to carers and family members and provide informative advice like therapy techniques and methods of dealing with dementia
  • Bring vital awareness and education programs to our schools and workplaces. This will develop our understanding of what a person with dementia experiences and how to help them cope.

Every little bit counts – we are very appreciative of any amount of funds you care to donate.
